A Day in the Italian Riviera: Embrace La Dolce Vita

Born in Turin, the sea is only two hours away. The Ligurian Riviera is where the city goes to slow down: pastel facades above the water, fishing boats, focaccia still warm from the oven and a lunch that stretches into the afternoon. This is la dolce vita, the Italian way — no rush, no checklist.

Your driver is Maurizio, the founder of Around Turin: born and raised in Turin, he knows this coast road the way he knows his own neighbourhood. He collects you at your hotel in Turin city centre and stays with you for the whole day, so all you have to do is sit back, look at the sea and enjoy.

STOP 1 · FINALE LIGURE & FINALBORGO The day opens with the beach: sandy coves, a palm-lined promenade and water that is impossibly clear. A few minutes inland, Finalborgo is a perfectly preserved medieval village inside its ancient walls — stone lanes, artisan workshops and small piazzas where people still stop to talk. One is the coast, the other is history, and they sit side by side.

STOP 2 · NOLI Lunch by the water in Noli, a small medieval fishing village that has kept its soul while the bigger resorts filled up. Seafood just off the boats, Ligurian focaccia, a glass of local white wine and a table looking straight at the sea. Afterwards, a slow walk through the old town: towers, narrow alleys and pastel houses leaning over the water.

STOP 3 · ALASSIO We close the day in Alassio, the elegant side of the Riviera. The Budello, a narrow street of boutiques and cafés running through the town, the Muretto with its signed tiles, a gelato and a last aperitivo in the late afternoon light before the drive back to Turin.
