Merenda Sinoira – The Original Turin's Aperitivo
Discover one of Piedmont's most beloved food traditions at Osteria Nuova, located in the heart of Turin, just steps from Porta Nuova train station.
La Merenda Sinoira is a typical early evening meal, once enjoyed by farmers after a long day of work. Served around 5 PM and stretching into the evening, it often replaces dinner — making it the original inspiration for modern aperitivo, apericena, and happy hour.
At Osteria Nuova, we serve our own interpretation of this traditional experience: a delicious, relaxed moment to enjoy regional flavors, share bites, and sip wine in good company.
